MY_WTC #115 | Jakob and Jens 2000

This image was taken in October or November 2000; it features my brother Jens and I. Jens had been in NY before and said the best way of seeing the statue of Liberty was from the Staten Island ferry. On the way, we looked back at the beautiful skyline of Manhattan – and we noticed our reflection in the glass door.

I’ve always thought the flatness of the Manhattan land contradicts the tall buildings standing on it, apparantly afloat on the water. Why doesn’t the island tip over?? Well, I know why, but it looks strange.

Being the tallest buildings on earth, of course WTC had an aura about them. It’s always fascinating to experience something unique.
