WTC Observation Deck

I grew up watching the construction of the Twin Towers from my neighborhood in the Rockaways, about a dozen miles southeast as the crow flies. When I was a young teenager, I would take the subway with my friends into Manhattan and the WTC was a favorite stop as I had a family member who worked up on the 79th floor and was always happy to give us a quick tour.

This shot was taken almost 25 years later by my wife on our last visit to NYC, just 13 months before the horrible events of 9/11.
